Flight Disruptions caused by Volcanic Ash Cloud (April 15-22)
Geneva and Zurich airport returned to normal operation on April 22. Cancellations by operators as a consequence of airspace closures and/or restrictions will be treated by EUACA coordinators in accordance with Article 10(4)(a) of Regulation 95/93 and will therefore not be counted for the 80/20 calculation at the end of the season.

Restrictions and Local Rules
The following restrictions and local rules are applicable for slot allocation:
Geneva
- Night curfew for slot allocation:
- Arrivals 2400-0559 local time
- Departures 2151-0559 local time
- Curfew ICAO noise rule chapter 1 and 2 aircrafts
- Airlines operating for the first time into Geneva will have to fax a copy of their IATA 2-letter or ICAO 3-letter code certificate well in advance to +41 22 717 7578
- During Geneva Motor show (March) and EBACE (May) max. 2 hours parking allowed
- Winter season days 6 and 7:
- Limited acceptance of new/additional flights due to Terminal congestion
- Only limited possibility of equipment upgrade
- No long term parking possible (max. 2 hours)
Zurich
- Night curfew
for slot allocation:
- Arrivals 2300-0609 local time
- Departures 2246-0619 local time (first possible departure 0620 local time)
- Extended night curfew regulation for the following types of
departure:
- Charter flights (scheduled and ad-hoc)
- Positioning flights
- Technical, test and training flights
Latest possible allocated departure slot is 2145 local time!
- Curfew ICAO noise rule chapter 1 and 2 aircrafts
- Airlines operating for the first time into Zurich will have to fax a copy of their IATA 2-letter or ICAO 3-letter code certificate well in advance to +41 43 816 7767
- During World Economic Forum (WEF) end of January max. 2 hours parking allowed
- Flights into/out of SR Technics Maintenance require a previously cleared airport slot
The night curfew regulation does not allow any exceptions!
